History of the Practice

Building1900 - Medical practice opens at 15 Green Lane owned by Professor McFall who was a forensic doctor as well as a GP.

1930s - Dr William Waters moved to take over the medical practice at 15 Green Lane. He had previously had a surgery in Victoria Road, Tuebrook.

1956 - Dr Harvey Waters joined his father at Green Lane after graduating from Liverpool University.

1963 - Dr William Fitzsimons became a partner with Dr H Waters after the death of his father.

1985 - Dr Moira Baird (nee Fitzsimons) joined the practice and absorbed the patients after the retirement of local GP Dr John Douglas.

1987 - Dr Timothy Fitzsimons joined the partnership.

1989 - Dr Helen Scholfield joined the partnership after the retirement of Dr H Waters. After 3 years Dr Scholfield returned to hospital work and is now a consultant obstetrician at the Liverpool Women's Hospital.

1991 - Dr James Graham joins the partnership on the retirement of Dr W Fitzsimons.

1991 - Dr Nicola Carter (wife of Dr J Graham) joins the partnership.

1991 - Old surgery is demolished as the building had subsidence and new build takes place on site.

1991 - New surgery opened in May.

2002 - Dr Heather Walker joins the Partnership after her Registrar training and being a salaried GP for 2 years.

2011 - The practice becomes a 6 partner practice as Dr Howard Davies joins the partnership after spending time as a Registrar and salaried GP with the practice.

2013 - Dr Jessica Grabham joins the Partnership, after previously training as a Registrar with us.

2014 - Dr Moira Baird dies, after a long illness with cancer, in Marie Curie. Dr Carter retires.

2015 - Dr Ros McArthur joins the Partnership. Dr Fitzsimons retires.
