Appointments
You can book a face to face appointment up to 4 weeks in advance with a doctor by telephone or by calling into the surgery.
We also have the facility to book appointments online via the above link. Please ask at the surgery for details.
We will always try to offer you an appointment on the day you request but it may not always be possible.
Patients who wish to be seen on the same day will be triaged by a doctor. This means that the receptionist will take your details and a doctor will telephone you back within two hours. During this telephone call the doctor will assess the patient’s needs and, if required, agree a mutually convenient time for you to attend at the surgery
Patients can also book a telephone consultation in advance if that is preferable.
We are releasing appointments every morning with all GPs to enable patients who want to be seen on the morning they require an appointment.
Nurse Practitioner
In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with our nurse practitioner rather than a doctor.
Nurse practitioners are qualified to deal with many conditions and you may be seen more quickly.
Chaperones
If you would like a chaperone present during your consultation, please advise the receptionist when booking your appointment.
Cancellations
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
We are currently receiving roughly 167 missed appointments per month. This is a concern to us as this is the equivalent of 13 doctor’s surgeries that we could otherwise offer to other people.
We have therefore introduced a text messaging service which will remind you of your appointment if we have a mobile phone number recorded for you 24 hours before. Can you please make sure we have up to date contact details for yourself or if you would not like to receive these messages then let us know.
